Traditional Boards

Traditional refers to scheme boards with samples that are stacked in a linear manner, laid out side-by-side, and are flush with one another. But the primary aspect of Traditional is that they are framed in a simple manner—a rectangular frame, and displayed either vertically or horizontally. The frames can be wood or metal, or in some cases, frameless, finished off with a thin trim.

Full-wall Boards

There is nothing more eye-catching than a large, floor to ceiling wall dedicated to samples. Depending on the space available, size of your project, and the materials specified, Full-Wall Boards can definitely make a significant impression.

Because of its complexity, this is a style that requires planning and collaboration between the design team, trades, and Schemeworks.

Built-in Boards

Designed to fit into tight spaces, these are essentially traditional boards mounted within a niche. Traditional, in that to appear built-in, they need to have straight lines, typically with 90 degree corners.

These type of boards require early communication with those planning your Presentation Centre, and Schemeworks having discussions with the construction team to ensure everyone shares the same vision for the final product, and what’s required to achieve that vision.

Custom Boards

Customs can appear simple, yet be very complex, leaving the viewer impressed without even knowing why. Then there are boards that are unique and literally works of art. Custom Boards are very unique, and often elaborate with intriguing forms. With these types of boards, the possibilities expand way beyond the usual square and rectangular shapes and samples can be organized in the space with much more freedom.

But the concept of Custom doesn’t only apply to a board’s appearance. Very often, the supporting structures required to hold the boards can be complex, yet go unseen. Whether looking for a visually striking piece, dealing with a complex spatial requirement—or a combination of both— Custom Boards can offer a wide range of creative solutions.

Shelf Boards

A common vision for a Shelf Display is a more relaxed, less formal approach - often designed to evoke the feel of a design studio where clients can interact with the materials. While displaying samples on a shelf may sound simple, there are many ways to approach shelves, and they can often become some of our most challenging projects.

Though the idea of movable samples may sound appealing in theory, one thing we've learned over the years is that the typical, busy sales environment might not be the ideal place for loose samples, and we can show you plenty of beautiful examples of how fixed samples can work for you. These are just some examples, but there are many more where these came from. Just ask!

Individuals

A group photo is fine, but sometimes it’s nice to give an Individual the spotlight and have their own frame. The same can apply to samples boards. Whether uniform or random sizes, linear and symmetric or more free-form and organic, the Individual approach allows for some added depth and character within the presentation centre, and has a gallery feel to it.

Like all styles, the framing can vary to help accentuate the design intent and work within the context of the vision for your presentation centre.

Smaller & Portable Boards

Our first “portable” projects were designed for travel, however, they are now often incorporated into the marketing strategy for the flexibility of moving around your presentation centre. There are countless ways to approach the design of these smaller, nonetheless detailed boards, which offer additional possibilities to the typical wall mounting of classic boards on Presentation Centre walls.

Boxes, Trays, Lid/no lid, Wood, metal, or you name it. If you are considering a smaller, portable solution, we would suggest that you have a look through our many examples.
